Today: Indian Soldier Medically Evacuated from Israel Amid Regional Tensions.


                          Havildar Suresh R, a 33-year-old soldier, sustained serious head injuries in an accident while serving with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Golan Heights. As tensions rise with Israel's preparations for a ground invasion in Lebanon, India successfully evacuated the injured soldier from Tel Aviv to the Army Hospital (Research and Referral) in New Delhi for further treatment.


Suresh was airlifted using a C-130J air ambulance following his transfer to a UN hospital in Israel after the incident on September 20, 2024. The Indian Army announced the operation on X, highlighting the effective collaboration between the Indian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence in conducting this critical medical evacuation. UNDOF's mission includes maintaining the ceasefire between Israel and Syria and overseeing the disengagement of their forces.
